During the long days of 2020, when people chose to isolate as Covid took its toll, I received comfort and found great peace observing the family of deer that would emerge from the woods each day and spend hours grazing and relaxing on the land behind our house.
I looked forward to their daily visits and increasingly became aware of the details of their gentle, loving interactions with one another. They were a gift from Nature, representing the unchanging beauty of the natural world, constant, ever-present and graced by Nature’s simplicity.
I took hundreds of photos of this family and eventually created these paintings using composites of various images.
